A small practice, deliberately.
Arkamind is senior-led and stays that way. The person on the scoping call is the person who does the work.
How we are set up
Senior people, a vetted contractor network, and no bench to keep busy.
Most consultancies sell you the people who showed up to the pitch and staff you with whoever is free. We do not have that problem, because we do not have that bench. Work is done by senior engineers, and where an engagement needs a specialist we do not have, we bring in someone we have worked with and say so.
We lean hard on modern tooling, AI included, and that is why a practice this size delivers at the pace it does. It is leverage, not the product. What you are buying is judgement about what to build, what to test, and what to leave alone.
The deliberate consequence is that we take fewer engagements than we are asked to, and we say no to work we are not the right shop for. That tends to come up on the first call.
Principal
Artem Kamshilin
A full-stack security architect who ships production web applications and tests them the way attackers do. Eight years competing on CMD+CTRL cyber ranges led to a DEF CON Black Badge on Dark Money in 2026. Neither half came after the other: Artem has shipped production systems across healthcare, logistics, industrial management and e-commerce — HIPAA compliance work included — with the security practice running through all of it.
DEF CON Black Badge
Won on Dark Money, the CMD+CTRL cyber range, at DEF CON 34 — one of ten contests that year authorised to award a badge, and the result of eight years competing on those ranges.
Interview with the contest organisersPublic work
In January 2021 Artem built and released a free map of COVID vaccine availability across Texas, assembled from public state data and shipped in two days. Central Texas news covered it.
Press coverage, KWTXTrack record
Shipping production software since 1998, and doing security research since 2003 — the two halves of the practice, in one person.
